Posthuman Lab began with Lena Dang, founder and creative director, who assembled a small a team of prodigiously talented individuals that would become the living core of the brand. Her first venture into accessories began in 2018, and for three years, she worked inside the limits of traditional manufacturing: Molds dictated what shape was allowed to be. Minimum order quantities forced compromise before a single piece existed. What wasn't sold became waste, and waste became the ceiling.


Inspired by surrealism & avant-garde, there was truly nothing on the market that spoke to the depth of meaning or complexity of design she imagined. It was this tension, between what production allowed and what creativity demanded, that became the turning point.

The team began experimenting with materials and production methods, searching for shapes detailed and captivating enough to represent a true form of art. The answer came from an unexpected place - 3D printing, a technology primarily used in medical, automotive, and military industries. Three years of research and thousands of failed prototypes later, Lena and her team found the combination, of materials, 3D printing machines, finishing techniques, capable of producing pieces with a complexity and quality unprecedented in the space.


This pursuit, to push against the edges of what's possible in service of something uniquely beautiful, became the spirit of Posthuman Lab.
